Wired to last.
Harnex Manufacturing designs and builds custom wire harnesses and cable assemblies to your exact drawings and specifications — every wire, connector, and breakout accounted for, from a first prototype through full production runs.
Precision in every conductor
Harnex Manufacturing is a custom wire harness and cable assembly manufacturer based in Michigan. A wire harness bundles multiple wires together for organization within an enclosure; a cable assembly adds a durable outer sheath to protect conductors in harsher environments. We build both — matched to your application, its operating environment, and the performance your product needs to deliver.
Every project starts with your drawings and specifications: wire gauge, length, connector types, and routing. From there, we move from a first prototype build through steady production volumes, with the same attention to detail at every stage. Harnesses can be built with custom colors, labeling, heat-shrink, lacing, and shielding, and engineered around real-world factors like flex cycles, indoor or outdoor exposure, voltage, and temperature range.
A look at what we build
Every harness is different, but here's a sense of the build types we work with most — from simple point-to-point leads to complex multi-breakout assemblies.
Automotive Branch Harness
Point-to-point wiring for dashboards, lighting circuits, and under-hood runs — organized, taped, and terminated to your connector spec.
Multi-Branch Industrial Harness
Five-plus breakouts from a single trunk, color-coded and labeled for fast identification during panel installation or field service.
Overmolded Cable Assembly
A protective molded boot adds strain relief and seals the connector transition — built for outdoor, high-flex, or washdown environments.
Control Panel Wiring
Terminal-to-terminal wiring built for continuous-duty control cabinets, with clear labeling for straightforward troubleshooting.
Battery & Power Cable Assembly
Heavy-gauge power leads with crimped ring lugs, built for EV, battery, and high-current power distribution applications.
Sensor & Robotics Coil Cable
Coiled, high-flex leads engineered for repetitive motion and tight routing on robotic arms and automated equipment.
From print to production
Every harness moves through the same disciplined process, whether it's a five-piece prototype or a running production order.
Bill of Materials
You provide a material list and requirements. We review it and determine exact wire lengths based on bends and breakouts.
Cut Sheet
We organize the BOM into a detailed cut sheet — wire type, gauge, color, length, strip-back distance, and jacket material.
Prototype Build
We lay out the assembly on a harness board and document the process, with your approval required before full production.
Review & Test
We test and adjust as needed — wire lengths, strip-backs, routing — and confirm every connection before sign-off.
Production
After final sample approval, the assembly moves into full-scale production and delivery on your schedule.
We build for virtually every sector
Wire harnesses keep wiring organized, protected, and easy to trace across nearly every industry that relies on electrical systems. If your product needs custom wiring, chances are we've built something like it.
