Wire Harness Assembly

Wire Harness Assembly

Harnex builds custom wire harnesses that group and organize multiple circuits within an enclosure or system. Every harness is cut, stripped, crimped, and routed to your exact drawing and specification, with consistent lengths and clean terminations across every unit we build. We support everything from simple point-to-point harnesses to complex, multi-branch assemblies with dozens of circuits.

Typical use case

Control panels, appliances, machinery, and any application where multiple wires need to be bundled, routed, and organized within a housing.

Cable Assembly

Cable Assembly

For applications exposed to the elements or repeated motion, Harnex builds cable assemblies with a protective outer jacket or sheath that shields the conductors from moisture, abrasion, and vibration. We engineer strain relief and jacket material selection around how and where the cable will actually be used.

Typical use case

Outdoor, mobile, or high-flex applications such as robotics, trailers, agricultural equipment, and industrial machinery.

Overmolding & Connector Molding

Overmolding & Connector Molding

Custom overmolding adds a protective, strain-relieving layer of material directly around connectors and cable-to-connector transitions. We design molds around your specific connector and cable geometry, sealing out moisture and chemicals while adding pull-strength at the termination point.

Typical use case

Applications exposed to moisture, chemicals, vibration, or repeated flexing, where a raw connector termination would be a failure point.

Box Build & Integration

Box Build & Integration

Beyond individual harnesses, Harnex offers full electromechanical assembly — combining wire harnesses, connectors, and sub-assemblies into a finished, tested enclosure ready to install. This lets OEMs receive one finished unit instead of managing multiple component suppliers.

Typical use case

OEMs who want a single supplier delivering a complete, tested assembly rather than loose components to assemble themselves.

Testing & Inspection

Testing & Inspection

Every build passes through continuity and hipot testing, plus pull-testing and visual inspection against workmanship criteria, before it ships. We document results so you have traceability from raw material to finished, tested assembly.

Typical use case

Any program where documented quality and traceability matter — medical, automotive, and defense-adjacent work especially.

Design Support & DFM

Design Support & DFM

Our team reviews drawings and BOMs early in the process to flag manufacturability issues, suggest cost-saving alternatives, and finalize a design before production begins — reducing rework and surprises once a program scales.

Typical use case

New product introductions or designs that haven’t yet been built at volume.

Quick-Turn & Prototyping

Quick-Turn & Prototyping

We support low-volume, fast-turnaround builds so you can test a new design, validate a product, or prep for a customer demo before committing to full production.

Typical use case

Startups and product teams validating a design ahead of a funding milestone or customer pilot.

Repair & Rework

Repair & Rework

Harnex also handles rework and repair on existing harnesses and assemblies — replacing connectors or terminations and correcting field failures so a returned unit can ship again with confidence.

Typical use case

Existing programs needing a repair partner or a rework pass on returned units.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between a wire harness and a cable assembly?

A wire harness groups individual wires and circuits inside an enclosure or system, usually protected by tape, sleeving or conduit. A cable assembly wraps the conductors in a protective outer jacket, which suits outdoor, mobile or high-flex applications.

What should I send for a quote?

Your drawing or print, bill of materials (BOM), estimated quantities, and a short description of the application and operating environment. If you don’t have a formal print yet, describe what you need and we’ll help.

Do you have minimum order quantities? Can you support prototypes?

Yes — we support prototype and low-volume builds as well as full production. Tell us your expected quantities in your request and we’ll quote accordingly.

What are typical lead times?

Lead times depend on complexity, quantity, and material availability. Share your target date with your quote request and we’ll confirm what’s achievable.

Which industries do you serve?

We serve OEMs and startups across all industries, including automotive & EV, medical, industrial automation, robotics, aerospace & defense, agriculture, and lighting & electronics.

How do repairs and rework work?

Send us the unit (or photos and a description of the failure) and we’ll evaluate it, replace connectors or terminations as needed, retest it, and return it ready to ship.
